Leon Senger wurde ausgewählt für den 8. Internationalen Wintercampus der Künstlerstadt Kalbe.

17 internationale Künstler:innen aus neun verschiedenen Ländern aus sechs Fachrichtungen (bildende Kunst, Musik, Film, darstellende Kunst, Tanz und Fotografie) leben und arbeiten in der Zeit vom 28. Februar bis zum 27. März in der Künstlerstadt Kalbe und präsentieren ihre Arbeiten.

On February 16, 2022, she successfully passed her examination as a "Meisterschülerin" (Third cycle Bologna). Congratulations and good luck for the further artistic career.

Hyunju Oh [*1988 in Daegu, South Korea] studied painting, media art, and experimental art. Currently, she studies Sound Art Composition of the "Meisterschüler"-program (3rd stage Bologna) at Mainz School of Music.

World Hearing Day 2022

March 3, 2022 - WHO World Hearing Day.
With the theme "To hear for life, listen with care," WHO is marking World Hearing Day 2022 by highlighting the importance of and opportunities for hearing loss prevention through safe (i.e., low-noise) listening. WHO calls on governments, industry partners and civil society to raise awareness and implement evidence-based standards that promote safe listening.

Born in Schwandorf, Bavaria and based in Saarbruecken, Germany, artist Melanie Windl creates site-specific, large-scale installations that incorporate expressions of spatiality with sound, light, interaction, and object. Working at the intersection of analog and digital art, Melanie Windl‘s projects are equally informed by the investigation of new technologies and materials. The multimodality of her work accumulates in vivid environments with notions of the interrelationship between humans, their artificial surroundings and nature.

Windl has collaborated with numerous artist residencies and international art fairs internationally, Artist Association Upper Valais, Switzerland; Schleswig-Holsteinisches Kuenstlerhaus Eckernfoerde, Germany; Kunststation Delden, Netherlands; Biennale for Arts and Technology, Norway; Kunstverein Akku Uster, Switzerland; Lademoen Kunstnerverkstaeder, Norway, Tokyo Experimental Festival, Japan; Arte Artist Association Turku, Finland; Foundation Kuenstlerdorf Schoeppingen, Germany, among others.
Melanie Windl studied fine arts at the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste in Saarbrücken from 2005 to 2012, from 2010 as a master student. This was followed by studies in sound art composition from 2013 to 2015 at the Hochschule für Musik Mainz of the Johannes Gutenberg University (JGU) Mainz.
She was head of the Ruhr University Bochum's music centre with a focus on intermedial art.

Nathalia Grotenhuis

Sound is a form of communication between a person and his or her environment. It is not just about conveying a message through acoustic means, but an elementary way of finding one's way in an environment and communicating with it.

Nathalia Grotenhuis' was born 1984 Born in Kleve, Germany. Her works focus on the viewer's perception. Through acoustic strategies, they make spaces, themes and conditions newly perceptible and thereby explore the nature and limits of what we commonly call "sound".
Nathalia performs as a percussionist and sound artist in solo and ensemble concerts. She performs her own compositions as well as interpretations of well-known percussion literature, sound installations and performances at various events.
In addition, she gives drum and music theory lessons and leads drum courses and ensembles at various music schools and music clubs. In 2015-2017 Nathalia was an adjunct lecturer at the Hochschule für Musik Mainz in the department of New Music / Sound Art.

Kaspar König

Kaspar König was born in Maastricht (NL) in 1975.
He studied Industrial Design at the UdK in Berlin and opened an
Autonomous Artspace in Maastricht (ARM). Attracted to the soundart
culture and his sonic-designs he decided to study the Master Sound-Art
Composition at HfM in Mainz. After many international shows and
exhibitions aswell as awardwinning Animation-filmscores he lectures at
the Department for Music and transdisciplinarity at the University of
the arts of Zürich. In 2017 he teached at HfM Mainz in soundart composition

His artworks advocates „creating momentum for social and environmental
sense and transformation“ in the realm of design and soundart. This
includes engineering Instruments and making music with Wind, Wood and
Mycel. He is based in Zürich and is developing an gathering space for
Soundart & environment in the ALPS (EAR)
Also he is boardmember in the non-profits called Urban Street Forest
(Amsterdam), Recreazzz (Zürich) and TicTac (Havanna)

Transportwege im Speckgürtel (Lohfelden)

Lohfelden grenzt direkt an die Stadt Kassel, an ein Industriegebiet, an den Waldrand der Söhre und an die Autobahn. Die Gemeinde mit ihren 14.000 Einwohnern ist zu groß für ein Dorf und zu klein für eine eigenständige Stadt; sie ist ein relativ wohlhabender Vorort mit verkehrsgünstiger Lage.

Zu seinem Stück "Transportwege im Speckgürtel (Lohfelden)" sagt der 1989 in Kassel geborene und dort lebende Musiker, Klangkünstler und Kurator Joshua Weitzel: "Die Ausgangssituation für meinen Hessen hören-Beitrag bilden Geräusche meiner Kindheit: das Dröhnen der Autobahn, das Brummen der Strommasten und das Rauschen des Wahlebachs. Das Stück besteht ausschließlich aus Field-Recordings, wobei verschiedene Jahres- und Tageszeiten übereinandergelegt werden."
