2023 Artistic degree “with distinction” in fine arts at the Kassel University of Art, specialization in
Sound and Multisensory Works.

BIO
Since 2016 Cat Woywod has been expanding its craft in the field of Sound at Kunsthochschule
Kassel,
studying from 2018-2020 with Prof. Mounira Al Sohl (Performance)
and Prof. Mario de Vega (Sound / Direct Media) from 2020-2022,
working as a student assistant for both professors during their studies.

In 2017, Cat Woywod performed for works by Pope L. “Whispering Campaign” and Georgia
Sagri's “Askesis on Empathy” as part of documenta14, picking performance back up in 2019 with
a focus on Sound and Improvisation.

The intermedia performance project “We Looked into the Sun” was realized from 2020 - 2021 as
part of Amöeba Collective, Cat Woywod facilitated the project, contributing with sound
production, light, costume, and as a Performer.
The work was nominated for the Golden Hercules Prize at the “39th Kassel Documentary, Film
and Video Festival” in 2022

For the project “Kultur trifft Leerstand 2022“ (“Culture meets Vacancy”) curated by Sarah Metz,
Cat Woywod was able to realize a multi-sensory and multi-part project reflecting on the past and
present of local militarism in the city’s vacant former postal service Headquarters.

As part of the documenta15 program Meydan #3 “After Cinema”,
Curated by Azin Feizabadi, Cat Woywod presented a 30-minute Sound Performance at the Gloria
Kino Kassel.

In 2023, Cat Woywod realized a sound installation for the solo exhibition of the Kassel artist
YiDahn for her solo exhibition “Stone in Water” in her home city of Seoul, South Korea,
worked as a sound designer for the “Wiesbaden Tanzt” Festival
and, after being invited by the Oksangfactory Gallery, realized a series of performances with the
Amöeba Collective in Seoul, South Korea, and Osaka, Japan.

In the same year, Cat Woywod was awarded the “Kasseler Kunstpreis der Wolfgang Zippel
Stiftung” for “Intermedia Art” and completed its studies with distinction with Prof. Joel Baumann
and Johanna Schaffer's artistic assistant, Miriam Schickler at Kunsthochschule Kassel by
exhibiting the work “O” in the documentaHalle Kassel.

In 2024, Cat Woywod will continue to specialise in “Sound Art - Composition” as part of the
post-graduate studies (Meisterschüler:in) at the University of Music in Mainz, Hochschule für Musik, working
freelance as a Sound Designer and Technician in the areas of sound, light, and performance,
based in Kassel.
