Prof. Stefan Fricke

Stefan Fricke was born in 1966 in Unna (Westfalia, Germany). After civil service, he studied Musicology and German Literature at the Saarland University. 1989 he was together with Sigrid Konrad a co-founder of the publishing house PFAU with today more than 400 books on music ( His own texts have been published in several magazines, encyclopedias, books, booklets, and broadcast by radio stations. Also, he curates exhibitions on music and sound art, and he is Co-Editor of the magazine “MusikTexte” (Cologne). 2003-2010 he was vice-president of the German section of the International Society of Contemporary Music (ISCM).  In 2007 he worked as a producer for Ars Acustica at Westdeutscher Rundfunk, Cologne, and since 2008 he is a producer for contemporary music and sound art at the Hessischer Rundfunk (Radio Frankfurt). Since 2017 he teaches as Honorary Professor at Hochschule für Musik Mainz, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.
