Stefan Fricke was born in 1966 in Unna (Westfalia, Germany). After civil service, he studied Musicology and German Literature at the Saarland University. 1989 he was together with Sigrid Konrad a co-founder of the publishing house PFAU with today more than 400 books on music (www.pfau-verlag.de). His own texts have been published in several magazines, encyclopedias, books, booklets, and broadcast by radio stations. Also, he curates exhibitions on music and sound art, and he is Co-Editor of the magazine “MusikTexte” (Cologne). 2003-2010 he was vice-president of the German section of the International Society of Contemporary Music (ISCM). In 2007 he worked as a producer for Ars Acustica at Westdeutscher Rundfunk, Cologne, and since 2008 he is a producer for contemporary music and sound art at the Hessischer Rundfunk (Radio Frankfurt). Since 2017 he teaches as Honorary Professor at Hochschule für Musik Mainz, Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz.
